Parenting After Divorce

July 22, 2010

When a married couple separates, it's bound to have some impact on very young children.  However, a new study has shown that the living arrangements of children can have a major effect on their overall wellbeing.

The study from La Trobe University, looked at the shared care of very young infants and children and found that regular overnight time away from the primary carer led to emotional difficulties in children under 4.

Associate Professor Jennifer McIntosh is a clinical pyschologist and she was also the team leader on this research.
