Baby Sleeping Habits: Learning From Other Cultures

Anyone who's ever had a baby will be aware of the intense debate that surrounds how and where babies should sleep.  Controlled crying, sleep routines, bed-sharing and whether or not you should rock or cuddle your baby to sleep are all issues that are hotly contested by both experts and parents.
 
Dr Rozanna Lilley is a social anthrolpolgist based at the Children's and Families Research Centre at Macquaire University. She says there's a lot we can learn from looking at the sleeping practices of parents and babies around the world.
